Kevin Wheet
|
Kevin Wheet believes and teaches that yoga is a multi-dimensional practice open to individuals at all levels and places in their lives. His students frequently find that asanas once believed to be unattainable become alive when presented in a mindful, gradual process.
In Kevin’s “Yoga…energy, strength, stillness” workshop, students learn to build poses based upon the ancient philosophy that all matter has elements of lightness, heaviness, and movement. By learning to access and balance these elements in asana practice, students find comfort and meditative calm.
Students will leave the workshop with new tools to develop more stamina in postures, as well as new techniques to access the meditative aspects of asana practice.
Kevin is a native of West Tennessee, and currently teaches hatha yoga and teacher training at the Yoga Center of Jackson under the guidance of his friend and mentor Deborah Perry. He has studied extensively with Ken Zimmerman and Larain Ashby. He has participated in workshops with Richard Freeman, Erich Schiffmann, Mark Whitwell, and Cora Wen.
